Sullivan & Cromwell: The Night Everyone Stopped Acting Like Their Bio

For one night, Sullivan & Cromwell didn't need another panel, another speech, or another round of small talk about deals.

They needed one sanctioned way for very serious people to stop being so serious, without making anyone cringe.

So they brought in a 360° video booth.

The Challenge

The event brought together law students, associates, partners, and clients inside Sullivan & Cromwell's New York office.

The goal wasn't to disrupt the legal industry.

It was much simpler:

  • Give people a reason to loosen up together.
  • Create one or two moments they'd actually remember.
  • Keep everything firmly within "top-tier law firm" territory.

No silly props.

No wigs.

No gimmicks.

Just something premium, well-run, and quietly fun.

Colleagues joined the 360° platform naturally throughout the evening, creating polished videos they could keep private or share on their own terms.

What It Felt Like in the Room

We positioned a 360° video booth overlooking the New York skyline, visible enough to spark curiosity but tucked away so it complemented the event instead of taking it over.

The experience unfolded naturally.

Colleagues stepped onto the platform in pairs and small groups. No announcements. No pressure. Just a steady stream of, "Want to try this?"

The camera completed a single rotation, capturing polished slow-motion footage with music and subtle branded overlays that matched the firm's aesthetic. It felt like an elegant event recap, not a social media stunt.

Within seconds, guests received their videos by text or email. They could save them, send them to friends or family, or keep them entirely private.

There was no spectacle.

Just one thoughtfully designed moment that gave people permission to relax before returning to conversations.

The experience succeeded because it matched the room, encouraged authentic interaction, and gave every guest control over whether their video stayed private or was shared.

Why It Worked

It matched the room.

The 360° booth looked like it belonged at a premium firm event. Modern, understated, and polished enough that even the most reserved guests felt comfortable stepping on.

It gave people permission to be human.

Partners, associates, and candidates watched their videos together, laughed for a moment, and then slipped back into conversation. For a few seconds, nobody was interviewing, networking, or negotiating, they were simply enjoying themselves.

It respected the audience.

Guests controlled exactly what happened with their videos. They could keep them private, share them with friends, or post them publicly if they chose. That flexibility made the experience feel comfortable in a conservative professional environment.

A premium 360° video booth, understated branding, efficient event operations, and instant delivery created an experience designed specifically for a professional audience.

The Results

This wasn't a high-volume public activation. It was a carefully curated recruiting event, and success looked different.

The activation generated 27 video sessions throughout the evening, with an average of nearly two people participating in each clip.

Most guests chose to keep their videos private, which is exactly what you'd expect in this setting. The value wasn't public reach. It was creating a memorable shared experience that partners, associates, and candidates could take with them long after the event ended.

For Sullivan & Cromwell, the success wasn't measured by viral content.

It was measured by the right people stepping onto the platform together, sharing a genuine moment, and leaving with something personal that made the evening more memorable.
